As. Professor Ya. Yu. (no photo available) was a head of Physical Department since 1955 till 1964. There were several experimental researches done under his advice. The topics of those researches were  the processes of crystallization of several over-cooled organic solvents, the physical and chemical properties of aerosols of antibiotics. Also the new analytical researches  were started to determine the concentration of  Cobalt in the human blood at the hemolytic anemia decease.

Some research works were done in cooperation with other special departments of the Institute, for example they were: “Studying of influence of ultrasound  on the permeability of the cell” (in cooperation with Pathologic Physiology Dept.), “”Studying the radioactivity of the soil, water and vegetables on the irrigated fields of Odessa” (in cooperation with Hygiene Dept.).

The active methodical work was also continued, particularly the new manual for the Physical laboratory classes for medical institutes was developed, including the chapters on molecular physics, mechanics and electricity.
